Deverill End Bed and Breakfast

Wow !!

This is a different kind of B&B. You don’t get bland decor; you are warmly welcomed into the home of two really lovely hosts. Joy and Sim welcomed us by serving afternoon tea in their sitting room... something I’ve never experienced before. There is an interesting range of artefacts reflecting their experiences and, in your room, you will find an interesting insight into Sim’s ancestors. The garden has a great view and, for Summer guests, would be a great place to relax. Their home is kept immaculate with attention to detail.

Breakfast is superior. Apple juice pressed from their own apples (would love to know how they make it pink rather than “cider brown”) but it tasted delicious. Eggs are from their own chickens. Sausages are meaty rather than the high cereal ones you so often find nowadays.

In the bedroom, we had the double room. The bed was comfy and (the best part) there was no traffic noise. So... a really nice sleep.

Visit these truly wonderful people if you are are the type to appreciate what they do for you.

Amazing ! My partner and I stayed with Sim and Joy on the weekend of 11/12 May 2019 and we could not have been made to feel more welcome. What a fantastic choice! Sim and Joy were wonderful hosts and the views over the surrounding countryside were breathtaking. It is, without doubt, one of the nicest places we have ever stayed — far better than any hotel and a real home-from-home. The only sounds we could hear were that of the birds. The accommodation was only a five-minute walk from the village inn, which served the most delicious food. We will definitely stay again and recommend highly to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat.

We were made most welcome by our hosts. We occupied two rooms, with comfy beds and all necessary facilities. The breakfast choice was truly scrumptious and we all enjoyed the feast. The stunning views and lovely gardens were delightful. I would rate this BandB very highly and would be happy to return if in this area again.

I stayed here for a couple of nights in autumn, glorying in the autumn colour at Stourhead and the surrounding countryside. Joy and Simon were most welcoming and the house itself is a lovely family home, full of antiques, interesting books and mementoes.
